ACT SCBWI Development evening – Building your story

Join SCBWI ACT for a fun and informative evening focusing on building your story.

Exploring plot and structure for both authors and illustrators, the night will kick off with a keynote session delivered by multi-awarding author Stephanie Owen Reeder, emceed by the engaging and insightful author-illustrator Tania McCartney. Cate Whittle, teacher and author, whose most recent publications include the engaging ‘Trouble’ series (Omnibus Scholastic) will provide us with practical advice on our theme, including common pitfalls. Tony Flowers, illustrator of the CBCA Notable Book ‘Hello’ (NLA Publishing), will share his insights into story building for illustrators. Finally, we will help you to structure your finances with advice from Ray King, Principal, SPA Accounting, who will help you plot your way to financial organisation with invaluable and practical advice for creatives. The evening will finish off with the new SCBWI committee sharing information on upcoming ACT events and taking the opportunity to answer any questions you may have.
